Starting a Doula Agency

On The Podcast:

Kathryn graduated from the Newborn Mothers Collective way back in 2016, and after working as a postpartum doula for a few years started an agency, One Moon Doula. Kathryn shares the pros and cons for both families and doulas using agencies and different agency models and how they work.

Doula Interview with Kathryn Keener

Kathryn is the Owner of One Moon Doula Services, which began in 2013 as a private doula practise and evolved into a boutique agency serving families all over San Diego County. After having provided private, postpartum doula services for three years and in two cities, Kathryn saw a significant need for an agency model to better serve families and support doulas. She is trained by three professional organizations (CAPPA, DONA, and ProDoula) and is a Certified Sleep Coach. She prides herself in cultivating a top-notch list of professional Postpartum Doulas and Newborn Care Specialists and matching them with families based on their needs. Kathryn’s passion has grown for bringing the support and continuing education that One Moon Doula has always provided for its own doulas, to doulas everywhere. She founded The Doula Membership for Postpartum Doulas and NCS’s (Newborn Care Specialists) which launches in July of 2022!
