Is Becoming A Postpartum Doula Really Right for YOU?

You Are Here Because You Believe Birth Is About Making Mums Too.

Doula Interview with Emmeline Tyler

As a Newborn Mother, you are being invited to reinvent yourself because when a baby is born so is a mother, and the birth of a mother can be more intense than childbirth. You'll learn how to find peace and joy in the first 40 days after birth and how your postpartum experience can change your life.

Emmeline is a mother of one who lives in Canberra with her partner. She graduated from Newborn Mothers Collective in November 2019 and started her business, Project Village, with the intention of becoming a local doula service. Since this episode was recorded, she has pivoted to providing support through an online membership, Project Village Community, which will be launching in June. For more information, check out http://www.projectvillage.net.

Emmeline has a background in anthropology and linguistics, with experience working and living in remote Aboriginal communities. Through this experience, she has witnessed an authentic community and has seen what it looks like for parents and children to operate within a strong network of support. Her vision is for every family to have their own abundant village support.

On The Podcast:

Emmeline's personal experience of motherhood led to her wanting to become a postpartum doula. During her pregnancy, she obsessively researched postpartum care and as a result, she had a blissful time during the first few weeks after her baby was born, with her sister caring for her. She wants to mobilise villages and create more clear frameworks for communities to support each other.
