Apply to be a guest on Newborn Mothers Podcasts
About the Podcast
Newborn Mothers Podcast is here to change the way people experience the transition to motherhood. On this podcast, we interview postpartum professionals, academics and researchers, as well as parents with unique perspectives. If you have a story to share, we’d love to invite you to apply to be a guest on our podcast.
The 5-star rated podcast is frequently in the top 100 for Alternative Health in Australia and overseas. We have nearly 25K subscribers on our email list. This is not a paid opportunity, but you will get a chance to plug your work at the end of the interview, and we will include your details in the show notes.
This page aims to provide you with the information and resources you will need in order to have a streamlined and enjoyable podcast recording experience with me!
Never listened to Newborn Mothers Podcast before?

So if you haven’t already, go ahead and have a listen here.
What happens on the day we record?
If your application is successful, we will send you a link to book a time to be interviewed.
We try and keep the podcast episodes under 30 minutes, but please allow 45-60 minutes so we can chat for a bit, plan the interview and troubleshoot any tech issues before we start recording.
Please make sure you have a good internet connection and good sound quality before the interview. Use headphones (a must!) and a microphone (if you can! An iPhone handsfree is fine.) Minimise background noise like crowds, fans and computer notifications. The odd interruption from a kid is to be expected!
The interview style is casual like we are having a cuppa together. I want you to feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible, but it is common to feel nervous! Imagine we are just friends having a chat :)
We don’t usually edit the podcast; we prefer to keep it real and natural! But we can edit if it’s really needed.
Preparing For The Episode Recording
A few things that will make the recording process run smoothly for both of us:
We will be recording the episode on Zoom. We won’t use the video recording, but some people find they can chat more naturally with the video on. If the internet quality is poor, we may switch off video to prioritise the sound quality.
Ensure phones and computer notifications are on silent and you have a quiet space to record.
Please use headphones in order to get the best sound quality for the recording.
Check your internet connection (www.speedtest.net) before we start - it needs to be at least 2Mbps and ideally 5Mbps or more.
What happened when the Episode Goes Live?
Once I know when the episode is going live to the big wide world, I will let you know so you can share the episode with your audience too.
